Justice Hodgson has written numerous philosophical articles, mainly dealing with issues in
philosophy of the mind. He writes primarily on the topics of
free will and
consciousness. Hodgson is the author of two books published by Oxford University Press,
Consequences of Utilitarianism (1967) and
The Mind Matters: Consciousness and Choice in a Quantum World (1991). The judge also takes a scholarly interest in pure mathematics.
